Upper School
Welcome to the Episcopal Collegiate School Upper School!
Our Upper School is building a rich tradition and offers academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs that provide enriching experiences for young people in a rigorous, yet supportive and caring educational setting.
The Upper School is committed to the mission of the school to nurture our students in mind, body, and spirit so that they may reach their potential intellectually, academically, socially, and morally. It is our desire to provide the skills, knowledge, and values that will enable our students to enjoy academic and personal success in college and in life.
We encourage students to take the most challenging courses they are prepared to take, to become involved in the life of the school, to make new friends, to get to know the faculty and administration, and to build leadership experiences. We expect students to grow in their abilities to study and research independently, to think logically and creatively, to communicate ideas in a meaningful way, and to develop the social and interpersonal skills of cooperation, teamwork, and leadership.
Parent involvement in the Upper School is valued and encouraged. We hope that our parents will become involved in the Parents Auxiliary and will take advantage of opportunities to communicate with their students' teachers and to attend parent education events. We encourage all parents to come out and support our students, whether it be attending the fall play, a basketball game, a concert, a quiz bowl competition, or being present at our daily chapel.
The faculty, staff, and I look forward to working with you and your children.
Sincerely,
Mary Lou Entzminger
Head of Upper School
