Middle School
Welcome to the Episcopal Collegiate Middle School! Our Middle School is concerned with the development of the preadolescent. We recognize the importance of a strong partnership between the school and home. A support system within our school will assist your child during the school day. The advisory program provides student support and communicates to parents. It serves as an integral part of our middle school program.
An Episcopal Collegiate Middle School student exhibits energy, enthusiasm and school spirit. A student displays these characteristics in the classroom, on the field of play and in the community. Developing the child’s character during the middle school years is the foundation for his or her future decisions. Respect, reverence and responsibility are expected from each Episcopal Collegiate School student, and these virtues are integrated daily in all aspects of the school.
Students are encouraged to stretch their minds in the classroom. The curriculum is rich and challenging. It prepares students for the college preparatory education in the Upper School. Our faculty recognizes a child’s needs and is prepared to help him or her. You will find teachers encouraging creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. Sometimes the greatest lessons children will learn will be from the mistakes they make. Mistakes are allowed as long as we learn from them. Students grow as they reach beyond their comfort zone.
The Middle School encourages students to be involved. Students will find a club or sport to join during the school year. Students are encouraged to try as many activities in the middle school as they have time to enjoy and manage with their school work.
