Lower School

Fostering intellectual curiosity and a love of learning is the essence of our Lower School.

Welcome to the Episcopal Collegiate Lower School. Our educational program is designed to provide the foundation of knowledge for young children that will last a lifetime. In a stimulating, safe, and supportive learning environment, dedicated and experienced teachers address the unique intellectual, social, emotional, physical, artistic, and spiritual needs of each student. Our challenging curriculum is benchmarked using national and international standards you would expect from a leading college preparatory program.

Our faculty is trained to recognize and nurture our students’ individual gifts and strengths, guiding each child on an engaging and inspiring educational journey. To realize this goal, our teacher to student ratio is unparalleled. A lead teacher and an associate teacher is in every pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classroom. In the critical areas of reading and math, specialists partner with teachers in grades one through five during instruction to create an exceptional 10:1 ratio, allowing us to better serve and support your child. We believe, and research supports, that understanding how each student learns unleashes his or her full potential leading to higher achievement.
