Library System

New Library Catalog

The Episcopal Collegiate School Campus has three state-of-the-art libraries, each housing their own age appropriate collections. This year, the Lower School library will open in a facility with approximately 6,500 books. The Erwin Middle School Library and the Simpson Upper School Library each house approximately 6,000 volumes. In addition to books and audio-visual materials, the libraries offer a variety of electronic resources including databases such as JSTOR, Gale Infotrac, Encyclopedia Britannica and Safari Montage, an on-demand video collection.

Librarians are available in each library for classroom support, instruction, readers' advisory programs, and research assistance. The libraries all have computers and printers for students' convenience, in addition to wireless access throughout. The Lower School and Middle School libraries have computer labs adjacent to the libraries. Both the Middle and Upper School libraries are open before and after school for material checkout and study. Students in the Lower School will have regularly scheduled library times in addition to the library's before and after school hours.

Our new Lower School Librarian, Meredith Neesvig, comes to us from San Antonio, with a wealth of library experience and technical expertise.  In the Middle School Library, Sandra Curtis works with grades 6-8 integrating library resources into classroom activities, sponsoring Middle School House reading contests as well as Reading Circles. In the Upper School, Marlene Ware assists grades 9-12 in classroom activities and support, and develops reading promotion events throughout the year.
