Lower School Orientation Details
For safety measures, we will adjust orientations to provide each student with an opportunity to meet his or her teacher in a smaller environment on Monday, August 17. Students will attend the time slots listed below based on last name so that families with more than one student in the Lower School can attend just one time slot. These sessions will be for students only. Students should be dropped off in designated locations based on their grade level. School administration and staff will be in these designated areas to complete temperature checks on all students in their cars before they exit. Students should wear face coverings as they move from their car to their classroom. Teachers will be on hand to guide students to their new rooms.
We will provide two virtual orientation times for parents on Thursday, August 13. Both of these virtual sessions will be recorded and emailed to parents. Classroom teachers will email parents with directions to join the virtual orientation earlier that week. If parents cannot attend either session, please email your child’s teacher to set up an alternative time to visit over the phone. We appreciate your attention to our designated times, dropoff locations, temperature checks, and additional measures to make this process safe for all.

Our fourth and fifth-grade students will be able to decorate their lockers before orientation time. Students are not required to decorate lockers, but we want to give them the opportunity if they desire. Click here to sign up for a time for your child to decorate or set up his/her locker. If you need an alternate time, please let me know.
All new families will receive an invitation from the School to attend a virtual session with new family orientation materials. New families can also access information here. In addition to the virtual session listed here, Mrs. Leigh Keener will provide training for new parents on our digital platforms so that you can access grades, your child’s assignments, etc. Mrs. Keener will send more details on joining these sessions soon, but the times and date are noted below.

Middle School Orientation Details
Virtual Middle School Back-to-School Night, Thursday, August 20
As of this writing, we are planning to host a Virtual Back to School Night on Thursday, August 20, from approximately 6:45-8:45pm. Parents/guardians will receive more detailed information on this event one week in advance.
Please note that the below orientation programs are for families new to Episcopal Collegiate Middle School. Returning seventh and eighth grade students/families have no orientation responsibilities, though stay tuned for a possible start-of-school kick off event sponsored by grade-level parent representatives.
New Student/Parent Orientation
New seventh grade and eighth grade students and their parents - Monday, August 17
- New seventh and eighth grade students and their parents should plan to attend a welcome program in the Middle School’s Erwin Library on Monday, August 17, from 1:30-3:00 pm. We ask that just the student and their parents attend and that all attendees wear masks.
Virtual sixth grade parent orientation (No students, please.) Monday, August 17 - 11:15-12:00

In-person sixth grade student orientation (No parents, please.) - Tuesday, August 18 - 9:00 - 12:30
- Sixth graders should arrive at the middle school via the middle school carpool line entrance between 8:30 and 9:00. Students with last names starting with M-Z should arrive at 8:30, and those whose last names end in A-L should arrive at 8:45.
Faculty will be standing by to do temperature checks, so students should remain in their cars to have their temperatures taken. Students should bring a snack, water bottle, and a mask. Dress for this event is casual appropriate - t-shirts with school appropriate logos, shorts that do not rise more than three inches above the knee, and tennis shoes are fine.The student orientation program will run until 12:30pm and will not include lunch.
Upper School Orientation Details
Orientation for students who are new to Episcopal is set for Monday, August 17, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the US Simpson Library.

The Episcopal Collegiate Community Handbook contains a wealth of information, and will answer many questions families may have about school policies and procedures. Information about dress codes, behavioral expectations, etc. are all contained in the handbook.

In order to keep our campus safe and maintain accurate records of vehicles allowed on campus, parents and drivers must register their vehicles annually. For your protection and convenience, we recommend registering all vehicles that may come on campus. Stickers are available in each division’s reception area and should be placed in the front window on the bottom left driver side.

Episcopal Collegiate School's dining program is managed by SAGE Dining Services. Participation in the program for the 2020-2021 school year is optional. Students will be enrolled in the program by default and families must notify the school if they elect for a student not to participate.A student may opt out of the program by providing written or email notification to Angela Deloney in the business office email@example.com
Students will eat lunch in small groups in classrooms or outside to allow for proper distancing. The details of the modifications to the lunch program are provided here.
Students not participating in the program should bring a lunch each day. Those meals are required to adhere to the following set of expectations:
- Parents are asked to provide well-balanced and nutritious lunches.
- Meals must be brought in a lunch box /sack lunch format.
- No glass containers or metal knives are allowed in lunch sacks or lunch boxes.
- No sodas should be included with lunch. Bottled water or juices are suggested
- Meals should be brought by the student when they come to school in the morning.
*Sage Dining services is subject to change due to school planning changes in regards to COVID-19.
