Award Winning Author to Visit Episcopal

The Episcopal Collegiate School’s Writing Center and the Simpson Upper School Library will host award-winning author, journalist, and Little Rock native Evin Demirel on Thursday, March 12. Demirel will discuss his new book African-American Athletes in Arkansas, which examines regional heritage, sports, and race relations.

Demirel, a former Latin teacher at Episcopal Collegiate, will visit classes in both the Middle and Upper Schools, and the Writing Center will host him in A Conversation with Evin Demirel, with lunch to be provided for attending students and faculty. In addition, Demirel will be giving a talk and book-signing open to all parents, students, and the Little Rock community in the Simpson Upper School Library from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday evening. Refreshments will be served.
