Dr. Jamie Griffin has dedicated more than 30 years to independent schools, gaining experience as a student, teacher, coach, and administrator. After graduating from The Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania, he attended Blair Academy as a postgraduate before receiving an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, where he majored in political science and competed on the varsity wrestling team. Upon graduation, Jamie was commissioned an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving over six years on active duty, including a deployment to Iraq from 2004 to 2005. During his service, Jamie was honored with the Navy and Marine Association Junior Officer Leadership Award for Marine Forces Pacific. 

Returning to The Episcopal Academy, Jamie taught history, coached soccer, wrestling, and tennis, and served as a grade-level dean of students. His career advanced at The Haverford School, where he earned a master’s in education leadership from Cabrini College and was a recipient of the Preparing Boys for Life Award. In 2015, he became the Head of the Upper School at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tennessee. After six years of service at BGA and earning a Doctorate in Education from Vanderbilt University, Jamie was appointed Head of Episcopal Collegiate School. He also serves on the Board of the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools and is a member of the Rotary Club of Little Rock.

Jamie and his wife, Maureen, have been married for 23 years and are proud parents of Episcopal Collegiate students Xavier ‘27 and Mary Austin ‘27.
