FINE ARTS CERTIFICATION OF DISTINCTION
Planning the Path
Students can indicate interest in the Certificate of Distinction in the Arts as early as the second semester of their Freshman year and as late as the first semester of their Junior year. Students will plan the path of coursework, leadership, and internship/practicum requirements with the help of their upper school advisor and the visual and performing arts department chair.

REQUIREMENTS
Commitment to Visual and Performing Arts
The Certificate of Distinction in the Arts acknowledges graduating seniors who demonstrate a true emphasis through advanced studies, leadership skills, and commitment to the Visual and Performing Arts. To be eligible for this distinction, the student must complete the following:
- A minimum of three credits in visual or performing arts. (Must include one credit of advanced-level coursework.)
- Serve in leadership positions within the arts community either on or off-campus during both Junior and Senior years.
- Participate in an Internship/Practicum within the arts community either on or off-campus totaling at least fifteen hours during the Junior or Senior year. The Internship/Practicum must be pre-approved by the Department Chair.
- Actively participate in school-recognized visual and performing arts events, performances, or competitions.
