Lower School ECTV Jr.
ECTV Jr. is a dynamic broadcast class where 3rd through 5th graders take on exciting roles like writing, directing, editing, reporting, filming, and anchoring segments. Students get hands-on experience in all aspects of creating a show, with their final broadcasts airing school-wide on WCATV. It’s a fun and creative way for kids to develop new skills and share their voices with the entire school community!
Middle School Video Production
Middle School Video Production introduces students to broadcast journalism fundamentals, including editing, directing, planning, research, and script writing. They gain skills in media literacy, sound recording, and video editing and apply those skills to produce multiple episodes of ECTV in the Middle.
Upper School Video Production
Through the Episcopal Collegiate Television Broadcast Journalism program, students learn to write, shoot, and edit using the principals of broadcast news as they are exposed to every aspect of production. Students develop their production skills while creating a variety of video projects using the program Final Cut Pro. Episcopal Collegiate graduates have won Emmy’s for their production work and several have gone on to work for top entertainment companies like Disney.
