Alumni Spotlights

Celeste Jennings '14

Celeste Jennings has turned her passion for fashion into a thriving career in playwriting and costume design, from Little Rock, Arkansas, to New York City’s vibrant theater scene. After earning an MFA in costume design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she gained recognition with productions like Blues in the Night, Dangerous Days, and Fat Ham, while also serving as the Resident Costume Designer for the Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s Summer Stage Season, starting with Pride and Prejudice. With accolades like the 2050 Artistic Fellowship at New York Theatre Workshop and a spot in the Public Theatre’s Emerging Writer’s Group, her journey proves that creativity, determination, and the courage to follow new paths can lead to limitless possibilities.

Owen Hadden '17

Owen spoke at the UN’s Palace of Nations in Geneva, presenting on methane emissions and coal mining at two international meetings. Now a consultant for an energy-focused firm, his career in global energy and environmental work began unexpectedly with an early assignment in Jamaica and has since taken him around the world, including upcoming projects in Kazakhstan and Colombia. With a background in geology and skills in international collaboration, Owen advises governments and private clients on methane utilization. He credits Episcopal with building the confidence and communication skills that shaped his path—showing how far an Episcopal education and an open mind can lead.

Carter Bowden '18

Carter directed, co-edited, and co-produced Snowflake, a short film that became a People’s Choice finalist at the KINO Studios Short Film Festival in January, earning recognition alongside international projects and screening at the Hollywood Legion Theater. Developed during his time at Belmont University and refined after moving to Los Angeles, the film tells the story of a young woman who loses herself in creating a new social media persona. Snowflake has since earned multiple honors, including Best Actress at the Thrills and Chills Film Awards, Best Drama at the Rome Short Film Festival, a Best Indie Short nomination at IndieX, honorable mention at the Tokyo International Monthly Film Festival, and a screening at London’s Close Up Film Theatre Centre.
